Donald C. Bryant

== Biography ==
Donald C. Bryant (1905-1987) studied speech and English at Cornell University. He taught at the high school and university levels; he was a professor at New York State College for Teachers, Washington University, and University of Iowa. He was an editor for <em>The Quarterly Journal of Speech for one term</em>, and the president of the <em>Speech Communication Association</em>. He is known for defining the function of rhetoric as, “Adjusting ideas to people and people to ideas.”
