Douglas Brent is a professor in the Department of Communication and Culture at the University of Calgary. His teaching and research centers on rhetoric and writing studies with emphasis on padagogy. He is the Vice President of the Canadian Association for the Study of Discourse and Writing. Previously he was Director of the University of Calgary's Writing Program and Undergraduate Program in Communications Studies.
